16th - Mozart Requiem with the Academy of Ancient Music (as part of the choir of the AAM). Directed by Richard Egarr with soloists Christopher Purves, James Gilchrist, Katherine Fuge and Barbara Kozelj. 29th September – 2nd October - Samling Outreach.  "Samling is bringing four of its Scholars and Britain's pioneering chamber orchestra Southbank Sinfonia (SbS) to the North East to work and perform with children in seven County Durham schools in the second year of a two-year project. The week’s work will culminate in two professional standard concerts featuring two 100-strong school choirs, full 32-piece professional orchestra SbS, side-by-side student musicians and 4 Samling Scholars, conducted by Simon Over at Durham Gala Theatre on 2nd October from 5 pm.  Tickets available from Durham Gala Theatre box office: Telephone 0191 332 4041 Website www.galadurham.co.uk.
